Radical Healing by Rudolph Ballentine, M.D.
A masterful book on the nature of healing on every level.
Reiki Energy Medicine by Libby Barnett and Maggie Chambers
Clinical uses of Reiki for caregivers and patients. Nice account of how an American doctor operating on children in a Third-World country used Reiki to manage bleeding when she discovered at the last minute that she did not have access to a cautery machine. She gave Reiki, and the bleeding was minimal.
Hands of Light by Barbara Ann Brennan
Great presentation of how the energy field looks, works, and interacts with others. Excellent discussion of major character structures and characteristic energy fields. Learn how people run energy subconsciously to dominate a situation -- and what you can do about it.
Wheels of Light by Rosalyn L. Bruyere
Historical, spiritual, cultural, and scientific perspective (the author trained as an engineer) on the chakras and the aura. Particular emphasis on Chakra One, which fuels everything else.
Shamanic Wisdom by Dolfyn
Practical guide to the use of shamanism in everyday life. Exercises to help you communicate with the unseen world and manifest things in the world you see and know.
The Complete Book of Energy Medicines by Helen E. Dziemidko, M.D.
Good overview on the nature of energy, plus a list and explanations of all kinds of energy modalities, grouped by class. Of particular interest are unique yes/no flow charts for common ailments, assigning classes of energy healing based on responses to diagnostic questions.
Energy Medicine by Donna Eden
Filled with amazingly effective energy exercises to ease a wide variety of disorders.
Repressed Memories by Renee Fredrickson, Ph.D.
Superb guidebook for anyone who knows that something's wrong but not what it is, who has limited memories of childhood, attractions, fears, or avoidances you can't explain, a great deal of anger, and self-esteem issues.
A Practical Guide to Vibrational Medicine by Richard Gerber, M.D.
A survey of energy modalities and underlying theory, written more of a lay focus than the book that follows. Excellent section on the chakras. (a.k.a. Vibrational Medicine for the 21st Century)
Vibrational Medicine by Richard Gerber, M.D.
This covers it all -- everything from subtle-energy fields to multidimensional healing. A widely used textbook on alternative healing in health care settings, it is grounded in enough science to support the believer and perhaps convert the skeptic.
Inner Reiki by Tanmaya Honervogt
Good exercises and meditations to help develop intuitive and energetic powers.
Eastern Body, Western Mind by Anodea Judith, Ph.D.
Elegant and thoroughgoing explanation of how emotional issues resulting from childhood events manifest in the energy system and body. Healing strategies included. A superb guide for expanding the healing power of bodywork.
Hands of Life by Julie Motz
Passionate first-person account by an energy healer who assisted in heart transplant operations, cancer surgery, and in other medical venues. Fascinating comparison between the four basic forces in physics, feelings, and corresponding tissues and fluids in the body. Insights that are startling, and then start to make sense.
Molecules of Emotion by Candace Pert, Ph.D
The discoverer of endorphins tells her story of working within -- and without -- the scientific establishment to revolutionize our understanding of mind-body connections. Featured in the film, "What the Bleep Do We Know?"
Trust Your Gut: How the Power of Intuition Can Grow Your Business by Lynn Robinson, M. Ed.
How to succeed making winning decisions about work, business and life.
Essential Reiki by Diane Stein
Diane Stein is arguably the Martin Luther of Reiki. This book, and Ms. Stein herself, generally provoke strong reactions. A Reiki master of my acquaintance called it "spiritual pornography." Read it!
Healing with the Angels by Lynn Virtue, Ph.D.
Angelic guidance and healing for practical matters in life -- work, relationships, road protection, mechanical items, and more. Exercises to release the karma of the past.
Spirit Medicine by Hank Wesselman, Ph.D., and Jill Kuykendall, R.P.T.
A small guidebook to the world of Polynesian cosmology, considered one of the world's most sophisticated psychological systems until the advent of Milton Ericson. Good overview of what shamans do. Plus, a bonus CD of theta-rhythm rattling and drumming to accompany shamanic journeys.
